An informal evangelical Anglican church in a growing area of Yeovil.
The main church building was reopened in April 2017 following an exciting reordering project including new underfloor heating, seating and lighting which gives the church more flexibility to hold more people and a greater range of events.
10.30 services every Sunday, children's groups at morning services, and music from both a music group and organ. We have an all-age service on the third Sunday of the month, Songs of Praise on the third Sunday afternoon and informal worship service Arise on the 4th Sunday evening as well as a monthly Messy Church at St Peter's with lunch.
Most of the core church membership are members of Cell groups, and we have strong links to the local church school. Outreach includes Alpha, and Christmas services at the local garden centre. We work with other local churches to provide a family mentoring project and to explore church planting in new housing areas.
We run regular baptism preparation evenings, and run a yearly Marriage Preparation course for couples being married at St. James. The church hosts 3-4 weddings and 30 baptisms/christenings a year.
We support four main charities as our Mission Partners: Open Doors, Christians Against Poverty (CAP), The Lord's Larder (foodbank) and Counselling4Yeovil.
Our former Associate Vicar Reverend David Keen became Vicar of St. James' and St. Peter's on 17th June following the retirement of Reverend Tony Perris at the end of August 2016. We also have a Youth Worker Ruth Glendinning and the parish is active in local schools, nursing homes and within the community.

We are a church built in late Victorian times for Anglo-Catholic worship, a tradition which has always been followed over the years. We seek to welcome and include all to our services as we develop this style of worship in a more modern catholic style. We have a Sung Eucharist most Sundays, and a Family Service once a month.

St. Peter's is the Church of England parish church for Westfield, providing for the spiritual needs of the area together with our sister church of St James', Preston Plucknett. We are a community of people trying to worship and follow Jesus, and to work out what that means in the 21st century in our local community. St Peter's people meet in our Church in Coronation Avenue (opposite the chip shop).
St. Peter's is strongly involved in the local community, and has Sunday Club for children, as well as running midweek groups for youth and social groups for adults.
